My biography

I’m Ximena Villanueva, a singer and songwriter from Mexico. Since I was young, music has been my way to express emotions and connect with the world. It’s my passion, my language, and my greatest inspiration.
Journey and Experience:
My formal musical journey began at the Conservatorio de las Rosas in Morelia, where I studied violin and developed a solid foundation in music theory and performance. During my high school years, I was part of several musical ensembles and choirs, which further shaped my skills and unique artistic style.
In 2023, I joined Ethereal Sunset as the lead singer and co-songwriter. Together, we’ve released singles like “Break These Chains” and “When the Lights Go Out,” blending funk, disco, and pop sounds. We’ve performed at festivals such as Michoacán de Origen, Panspermia UNAM, and the Taco Fest series, connecting with diverse audiences.
I’ve also worked on a Live Session with Universidad Montrer, showcasing songs from our upcoming EP, ‘Ethereal Sunset,’ set to release in December 2024.
To enhance my vocal technique, I trained with Alejandra Zavala, a professional vocal coach, from April to November 2023.
​Inspiration and Vision:
My music is inspired by legends like Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Donna Summer, Elton John, and Adele. I also draw inspiration from contemporary artists like Kanye West and The Weeknd. I love experimenting with genres and creating music that evokes emotions, tells stories, and connects with people on a deeper level.
As an artist, my goal is to inspire others to pursue their dreams and to create music that resonates across cultures and generations. This is just the beginning of my journey, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.
